Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary

Established in 2013, Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary in Maharashtra is just 58 km (1.5 hours) scenic drive from Nagpur. It is named after the Umred and Karhandla regions it spans. Its teak and bamboo forests, home to Bengal tigers, leopards, wild dogs etc. and over 180 bird species. Best explored from October to June and closed on Mondays, Umred Karhandla is special for its serene, lesser-known landscape, offering an offbeat and intimate wildlife experience.
