Kanha Tiger Reserve

Established in 1955, Kanha Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh, about 260 km (5 hours) from Nagpur and 165 km (4 hours) from Jabalpur, is named after the Kanhar River flowing through its lush Sal and bamboo forests. This iconic reserve is renowned for its thriving population of Bengal tigers, elusive leopards, sloth bears, and the rare Hardground Barasingha—often called the “Jewel of Kanha.” Best explored from October to June and closed on Wednesdays, Kanha captivates with its rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes, offering an unforgettable encounter with nature’s untouched beauty.
